Actually, just the other day I ended up talking to a 13 year old in Michigan (yes, I asked him. He said he was from Kansas but lived in Michigan)
After I told him where I was from, he said ‘I hope I’m not talking to a real person’
Pretty much the same thing happened when I asked some chick who had mentioned a ‘Tyler’ who he was. She said it was her boyfriend, and after asking, she said he was cute.
And I do have pics to prove it, or at least from my first ‘encounter’
its a little program called “spell check”. look it up
Spell-check isn’t completely idiot-proof. For example, it doesn’t usually call one out for improper word choice (such as typing “weather” when you meant “whether” – yes, I’ve seen someone do that before).

I have definitely gotten responses that were spelled incorrectly or lacking in proper grammar or mechanics. Some that were all three.
Since it learns from humans, I’ve seen some bad mix ups on “your” and “you’re” and various others. Nothing that would suggest a human (many, many non sequitur answers)

If cleverbot is an AI how come it gives the same answer to the same question that i asked one minute ago, then again this only happened once.
There’s a cleverbot and a switch sistm probly, that or i was in the same convo for a long tim e with the same person.
Remember: Cleverbot learns via real people. The point is to trick you into thinking you’re talking to a real person.
I would actually expect an AI to give the same response each time a certain question or statement is given. Seems like common sense to me.
You should look into such things as randomization and probabilities, it may evaluate several difference choices and pick amongst them, at the same time excluding such that were already picked in that session so it doesn’t repeat them over and over again.
Funny, I seem to have trouble getting Cleverbot to “remember” what it just said. It makes simple mistakes all the time.
Example:
Me: Do you have a boyfriend?
Bot: Yes
Me: What is his name?
Bot: Her name is Jane.
Me: Fail!
Cleverbot shoots! He SCORES!!!!!

If you’ve ever used Cleverbot you’d know that the grammar isn’t right all the time. In fact, it’s only right about 70% of the time, I’d say.
